The machine tool, particularly wood working machine has a tool (3) rotating in revolving direction (D) for machining by chip removal. A suction hood (1) covers the tool having a partially opened circumferential wall (4), which has a radial distance (A) from the tool. A suction pipe (2) is provided for sucking the chips. A rotating air turbulence is produced in the suction hood in the area of the suction pipe in the opposite direction to the revolving direction of the tool during the machining by chip removal.
