PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera operated so as to acquire RGB and infrared image of an illuminated skin area. SOLUTION: The acquired image and a light returned from a location on the surface of the illuminated skin area 2 appearing in the acquired image are transferred to a computer 8 for determining a behavior fluctuated by fluctuations in the illumination intensity and a surfice geometric structure. An infrared color channel of the acquired image is normalized from the determined fluctuations. The measured value of the thickness of collagen can be determined, by utilizing a processed infrared color channel of the acquired image. The fluctuations in the intensity of the light, returned from the location on the surface of the illuminated skin site 2, can be determined by processing the acquired image, generating a 3D model of the imaged surface, utilizing the 3D model, selecting and processing pre-stored lighting level data.
