PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf board support device having a favorable display appearance, having a superior load bearing property due to a shelf bracket clamping a shelf post on both sides of a shelf support, extremely facilitating the attachment/detachment of the shelf bracket, and capable of firmly fixing the shelf board. SOLUTION: This shelf board support device includes: the shelf post 1 disposed with multiple short clearance-forming projecting leg portions 11e vertically, which are horizontally aligned at a predetermined interval in the left/right direction, on the back side of a strip-shaped flat plate portion 11a at a fixed interval; a shelf bracket clamping member 2 having a pair of left/right facing frame-like hook parts 21 and 22 integrally continued to the ends of arms 21a and 22a crossing into a saltire shape, allowing turned end portions 21b and 22b of the hook parts 21 and 22 to engage with the clearance-forming projecting leg portions 11e and clampingly fitting to the both side portions 11b of the strip-shaped flat plate portion 11a; and urging means 3 continued to appropriate portions of the respective arms 21a and 22a and resiliently urging a facing interval between the pair of left/right frame-like hook parts 21 and 22, so as to be extended/retracted.
