A method for computing service life of a filter of an air cleaner is provided to compute the service life of the filter according to a degree of contamination. A method for computing service life of a filter of an air cleaner comprises the following steps of: storing setup information about a total service life of the filter, a stage number of a fan driving part and weight of a dust pollution level(302); grasping an action level of the fan driving part(304); storing the dust pollution level after analyzing a degree of dust contamination of the filter(306); storing operation time of the air cleaner(308); and outputting the service life of the filter by using the operation time(310).
