The method involves supplying a packaging material sheet (6) to a cutting station (7). Two identical packaging materials sheets are cut from the packaging material sheet (6) and supplied to a multi-packaging station (5). Three packaging material sheets (4A, 4B, 4c) are supplied along three routes of three lengths, respectively. Relative transverse movement is provided for the identical packaging material sheets to cross the routes, where the transverse movement is equal to widths of the identical packaging material sheets measured in a direction vertical to the routes. An independent claim is also included for a unit for supplying packaging materials to a multi-packaging station.
