PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the motion of an object of action. SOLUTION: The present invention has arranged a motion detecting system, to include a pseudo-electrostatic field generating device for generating, from at least two sources of electric fields, pseudo-electrostatic fields composed of a plurality of frequencies distinguished by identification indices; a distance-determining device provided in an object of action which determines distances from the source of electric fields, based on the reception frequencies of the quasi-electrostatic fields, respectively, and notifies the distances thus determined; and a motion-detecting device that calculates the position of the distance determining device, according to the distances notified from the distance-determining device and detects, as an amount by which the object of action moves, the amount of variation between the position thus calculated and a predetermined reference position.
