A HAND-HELD THUMB TOUCH TYPABLE ASCII/UNICODE KEYPAD FOR A REMOTE, MOBILE TELEPHONE OR A PDA

A wearable hand-held numeric keypad layout device which allows thumb touch-typing of all the major languages of the world. The device can be used for conventional sight-typing using hunt and peck with fingers. The key legends display all the ASCII characters, with simple to learn "abc" layout. Provision is made for alphabetic/phonetic typing of various languages of the world, in a manner that their character legends don't need to be simultaneously shown and UNICODE characters can be generated. A Navigation keypad (4.1) is provided to complement the Alphanumeric keypad (4.2). The bottom surface of the device has an adjustable strap (4.7) which allows four fingers of a hand (4.8) to be easily slid in for support while ensuring that the thumb gets raised high enough to be able to stroke all the keys on the top surface.
