PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement pump reduced in pump pulsation level by minimizing the deflection amount of a drive shaft when the pump is under high pressure to suppress the excessive movement of the position of a cam ring. SOLUTION: This variable displacement pump comprises the cam ring 6 swingably stored in a pump body 1 and composing, on the inner peripheral side, a plurality of pump chambers 18 in cooperation with a rotor 8 and vanes 17, the drive shaft 7 rotatably supported on bearing bushes 9, 12 through two front and rear journal shaft parts 7b, 7c, a suction port and a discharge port formed in a plate 12, and a first hydraulic pressure chamber 14 and a second hydraulic pressure chamber 15 formed by demarcating the spaces on the outer peripheral both sides of the cam ring. The length S between the both bearing bushes is set to approximately 42.1 mm, the outer diameter of the second journal shaft part 7c is set to approximately 13 mm, and the axial length L of a serration shaft part 7d is set within the range of 9-14 mm.
