PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate reduction in a potential of a pixel electrode, that is, insufficient writing of an image signal, for example, caused by a push-down phenomenon occurring when a pixel switching TFT is switched from a selection state into a non-selection state. SOLUTION: A pixel circuit (70) includes a liquid crystal element (118), a pixel electrode (9a), a TFT (30), a node (N), a storage capacitor (119), and a capacitive element (Cf). The capacitive element (Cf) is driven by a correction signal (ϕj) supplied through a correction signal line (131) and compensates changes in the potential of the node (N), that is, the electrode potential of the pixel electrode (9a) according to the correction signal (ϕj). Thereby, decrease in the display performance caused by a push-down phenomenon occurring when a scanning signal (Yj) falls, that is, when a single horizontal scanning period is terminated.
