<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil seal which can reduce sliding torque and sliding heat generation without reducing a cross-sectional area of a seal lip 2, or using low friction material. <P>SOLUTION: An unevenness strip 24 is formed at a circumferential predetermined pitch in at least one side between a sliding seal surface 21 of the seal lip 2, and an atmospheric air side conical surface 23, and each unevenness strip 24 consists of a first slope 24a relatively slanting at a loose slope in a direction in which a clearance with the periphery of a rotor 10 is narrowed toward a rotational direction of this rotor 10, and a second slope 24b relatively rising at steep slope from the first slope 24a from a portion in which the clearance is narrowed. Therefore, a part of sealing object fluid introduced into the clearance with the rotor 10 by the unevenness strip 24 generates dynamic pressure by intervening wedgedly in a narrowed direction of the clearance in connection with a rotation of the rotor 10, and a sliding resistance with the periphery of the rotor 10 reduces since thick fluid lubricating film is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
