PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering operation device capable of providing advantage in a simple structure for production cost, maintenance, and characteristic setting. SOLUTION: The steering operation device includes a steering lever 1 slantly supported from a neutral position N to left and right sides. The steering lever 1 has a resistance mechanism 5 for acting a resistance force on its slanting operation. The resistance mechanism 5 has two projection sections 15 integrated with the steering lever 1 and projected at a bilateral symmetry arrangement about its center axis, and an elastic member 14 for acting the resistance force by bringing into contact with two projection sections 15. The elastic member 14 is formed by integrating two elastically-repelling sections 14L, 14R in which the point of action is located at the bilateral symmetry arrangement and its elastic properties are different with each other.
