A cement admixture for concrete that is capable of producing a concrete which realizes avoiding of drooping, etc., freedom from material separation, lightweight, decreasing of slump loss and excellent working efficiency, and that makes use of a polycarboxylic acid salt water reducing agent. Further, there is provided a cement composition making use of the cement admixture. In particular, there is provided a cement admixture for concrete making use of a polycarboxylic acid salt water reducing agent, wherein there are contained bentonites (preferably one or two or more members selected from the group consisting of bentonite, acid clay and activated earth) and polyvinyl alcohol, and further provided the cement admixture loaded with any of a sugar group. Still further, there is provided a cement composition comprising, as main components, cement, a polycarboxylic acid salt water reducing agent, any of bentonites and polyvinyl alcohol, and provided the cement composition loaded with any of a sugar group. Preferred cement composition comprises, per 100 parts of cement, 0.3 to 5 parts of polycarboxylic acid salt water reducing agent, 0.1 to 10 of bentonite, 0.03 to 1 part of polyvinyl alcohol and 0.01 to 0.2 part of sugar. |
