The invention provides a dispersion containing metal fine particles which is excellent in oxidation resistance and dispersion stability and can form metal films excellent in electric conductivity; a process for the production of the dispersion; and articles having metal films excellent in electric conductivity. A process for the production of a dispersion containing metal fine particles by heating a dispersion of metal hydride fine particles which comprises a dispersion medium, metal hydride fine particles dispersed in the medium and having a mean particle size of 50nm or below, and an amino-bearing organic compound of 4 to 1000 carbon atoms in an inert atmosphere at 60 to 350°C; a dispersion containing metal fine particles which is produced by the process; and articles having metal films which are formed by applying the dispersion to a substrate and baking the resulting coating.
