519,002. Sliding-clasp fastenings. KUNA, J. Oct. 5, 1938, No. 28888. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1938. [Class 44] A covered sliding clasp fastener is produced by folding over an apertured band having the apertures 10 formed between small web threads 1 which join one or both portions 2, 3 of the band at points 4 spaced somewhat from the continuous inner edges of the band lying adjacent the apertures. The fastener members 9 may be clamped on beadings 6, 7 sewn to the band on a folding line I-I, Fig. 4, the portion 2 of the band thereafter being pulled over the fastener members to produce a stringer in which the members are covered by a continuous strip 5 as shown in section in Fig. 7. Figs. 12, 14 show an arrangement in which a band 2, 3 is folded over a series of fastener members 9 clamped on a cord 11 whereby continuous cover strips 5 are provided on each face of the members 9. |
