[Also in Group XXV] A removable ornamental brooch - like fitting for the runner of a sliding clasp fastener has a back plate 5 provided at its centre with a recess 10 of such size as to accommodate the rib 2 of the runner 1 of the 'fastener. A pin 6 pivoted on the plate 5 is passed through a hole 3 in the rib 2 above the nose 8 of an operating tab 4 and fastened on the hook 7. The plate may be ornamented in any suitable manner ; as shown it is provided with a domed head 11 on which jewels may be fixed. The operating tab 4 may be removed and the fitting used to operate the runner. Specification 499,253 is referred to. |
