PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening body which has no deformed projecting part of a tool to be fastened on the surface of a metal plate and can suppress the occurrence of external waviness on the surface of the metal plate, and with which working man-hours of the metal plate can be reduced. SOLUTION: The fastening body is manufactured, in which a tool 3 to be fastened is fastened to a through-hole 1 in a metal plate 2. The tool 3 to be fastened has a tool body 32 and a hollow cylindrical projecting part 31, and the hardness of the projecting part 31 is equal to or higher than the hardness of the metal plate 2. The metal plate 2 and the tool 3 are fastened to each other via the following steps. (1) The projecting part 31 is inserted in the through-hole 1, and a fore end portion of the projecting part 31 is opposed to an inner wall 5 of the through-hole, (2) a circumferential surface of the through-hole of the metal plate 2 is pressed flat from a face from the side opposite to the side on which the projecting part 31 is inserted, (3) a press pin 4 is press-fitted in a cylindrical shape of the projecting part 31 from the pressing side of the metal plate 2 in the above state, and (4) an outer wall of the projecting part 31 is expanded, and the fore end portion of the expanded projecting part 31 is allowed to bite in the inner wall 5 of the through-hole.
