PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique with which color shift in image data expressing an original document is suppressed. SOLUTION: An image reading device (image scanner) 10 is provided with: a color shift adjustment unit 814 for adjusting a positional shift in a sub-scanning direction in the read data of each color component imaged by a plurality of line sensors 560 according to a design offset amount DV; an image generation unit 816 for generating the image data expressing an original 90 based on the read data adjusted by the color shift adjustment unit 814; and an offset correction unit 818 for correcting a design offset amount DV according to a variation of magnification that is a variation from a design value of an image forming magnification at which the image of the original 90 is formed on a light receiving element 562.
