The present invention relates to a display panel making use of the flexibility of a metal thin-film pattern and a fabrication method thereof, and more specifically, to a display panel making use of the flexibility of a metal thin-film pattern and a fabrication method thereof, in which the display panel is adapted to reflect or transmit light outputted from a backlight unit onto or through a metal thin-film pattern and to output the light outside, by benefitting from the deformable properties of the metal thin-film pattern depending on a potential difference, thereby improving light transmittance as well as lowering the manufacturing cost of the display panel. The display panel making use of the flexibility of a metal thin-film pattern according to the present invention comprises: a 1st substrate; a light shielding film pattern formed in a lattice shape on the 1st substrate; a transparent film formed on the light shielding film pattern and the 1st substrate; a plurality of thin-film metal patterns formed on a light-transmitting area that is formed between the light shielding film patterns in the lattice shape, with one side of the thin-film metal pattern being connected to the upper portion of the transparent film and the other part thereof being at a predetermined distance apart from the transparent film; and a 2nd substrate, which is provided at a predetermined distance apart from the top of the 1st substrate and a lower portion of which has a counter electrode pattern that is arranged in an orthogonal direction to the thin-film metal patterns, wherein if an electric field is applied to the plurality of the thin-film metal patterns and the counter electrode pattern, a potential difference created between the plurality of the thin-film metal patterns and the counter electrode pattern transforms the plurality of thin-film metal patterns. |
