PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique with which a real time property can be secured when an electronic conference system by a web application is provided, and with which unsolved problems accompanying the operation of an electronic conference system and the like can be managed. SOLUTION: An application server performs such control that a comet server receives an HTTP request from each terminal to enter into a holding state (0, 1). When the application server receives message data from a terminal (3), the application server extracts necessary data from a conference database (4), and the necessary data are transmitted from the comet server to a pertinent terminal together with the message data (5, 6). After the transmission, the application server performs such control that the comet server receives an HTTP request from each terminal to enter into the holding state again (0).
