PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in durability by effectively suppressing separation of a plurality of bead wires forming a bead core, even when the tire is reduced in weight. SOLUTION: Each of the bead wires 3 has a contour shape constituted of: two parallel straight line parts inclined in a tire radial direction and linearly extending; a complementary shape part completing a mutually complementary engagement between the bead wires 3 adjacent in a tire width direction; and a corner part connecting the straight line parts and the complementary shape part. In the bead wires 3 adjacent in the tire width direction, the straight line parts at each of the tire radial direction inside and outside are mutually arranged on the same straight line. In a tire width direction cross section, the shape of the whole of the bead core 2 is formed by the bead wires of a plurality of steps and a plurality of rows. At least the step on the tire radial direction innermost side has the largest number of rows, at least the row on the tire width direction innermost side has the largest number of steps, and the row on the tire width direction outermost side has the smallest number of steps.
