[Class 100 (ii)] Ink is transferred from a fountain roller 2 having a ductor blade 3 either directly or through one or more intermediate rollers to a transfer roller 9 having on its surface a plurality of projections p which contact with the even surface of a second transfer roller 12 from which it. is transferred either directly or through one or more intermediate rollers to the inking drum 13 one of the transfer rollers having a resilient surface and-the pressure between the tranfer rollers being adjustable. Roller 9 is carried by a pair of arms 10 formed into yokes 14 which have adjusting-screws 16 engaging a lug 15. The projections p may be in the form of uniform cones or pyramids with outwardly sloping sides s. The rollers 9 may be used in pairs, angularly adjustable in opposite directions. |
