Disclosed herein is a communication method of an air conditioner in which data communications are performed between one or more outdoor units and a plurality of indoor units using refrigerant lines. The method includes setting one or more of the indoor units in a group of each of the outdoor units, and performing the data communications over different frequency channels with respect to the respective outdoor unit groups. It may be possible to prevent a communication error resulting from communication interference.
