<p>By the invention a play apparatus (10) comprising a hollow shell body (20) comprising a first compartment (22) for accommodating one or more children (4), an access opening (26) providing access by the one or more children (4) to the compartment (22), and a hub (70) for rotation of the hollow shell body (20) around at least one axis (12), characterized by the hollow shell body (20) comprising first and second shell parts (30, 32) joined together, the hub (70) being positioned in a second compartment (24) between the first and second shell parts (30, 32), the hub (70) comprising one or more bearings (92) adapted to receive a fixed axle (12) so that the hollow shell body (20) may rotate around the fixed axle (12), and by the axle (12) passing through an opening (36) in the hollow shell body (20), the opening (36) further defining a plain bearing for the axle (12) is provided.
