PURPOSE: A producing method of solid-solution carbide and carbonitride powder is provided to manufacture a cutting tool with a high capacity by easily controlling the oxygen content and the carbon content inside cermet composite sintered body powder. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of solid-solution carbide powder comprises the following steps: mixing more than two metals or its oxides selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, and W with carbon-powder, and crushing; and carbonizing, nitrifying, or reducing the powder obtained from the previous step.
