MEDICAL DEVICE FOR MONITORING OF SPECIMEN AND DRUG DELIVERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect activity of biological macromolecules or the concentration level of a drug and to administer a specific therapeutic agent to a local site inside a body in accordance with the change in activity of the biological macromolecules or the concentration level of the drug.

SOLUTION: The medical device includes an outer surface and an inner surface and is ingestible. The medical device includes: (a) a microarray including a polypeptide bioactive factor which can interact with a biological specimen as a disease marker; (b) a reservoir which includes the therapeutic agent; (c) a microchip; and (d) a biocompatible polymer coat which covers the outer surface of the ingestible medical device.
