PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible computer vision system that follows accumulated knowledge of vision. SOLUTION: In an artificial vision system of a vehicle or a robot, a computer vision system is constructed which expresses perceivable sensory events using node entities connected to other nodes by directed links expressing functional relationships, and using the relational semantic memory of a graph to which the sensory events are connected, and which recursively repeats improving the relational semantic memory by performing additions and modifications using estimated values gained from sensory measurements, and incrementally adapting new graph structures.
