<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access method for a card type peripheral device, a host device, and a card communication method, which are advantageous in determining a protocol of a card type peripheral device by the host device. <P>SOLUTION: A VPD Cap (Product Data Capability) includes an address register with first address information set thereto, and a data register with a part of protocol identification information read from a storage unit 28 based on the first address information set thereto. The capacity of the data register is smaller than the amount of the protocol identification information. A configuration space 24 includes a first area and a second area. The first area includes second address information showing an arrangement address of the second area. The first address information for accessing a part of the protocol identification information stored in the storage unit is successively set to the second area, and a part of the protocol identification information read from the storage unit based on the first address information is successively set to the data register. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
