PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the end face of a glass plate to a measuring device easily and properly without especially processing the opposite side to be parallel to a measuring side, if only a sample piece is prepared, leaving the measuring side as it is.SOLUTION: A measuring implement 10 which has a bottom face 10A and a top face 10B formed as planes parallel to each other and a supporting face 10C and a holding face 10D being vertical to these faces, is used. The glass plate G is inserted between the supporting face and the holding face, and while the straight-line-shaped measuring side G1 having the end face GA of the glass plate is brought into linear contact with a positioning plane 101 which is brought into surface contact with the top face of the measuring implement, the glass plate is held and fixed between the supporting face and the holding face. In this state, the measuring implement is placed on a table by bringing the bottom face of the measuring implement into surface contact with the top face of the table of the measuring device. Thereby the measuring side is set parallel to the top face of the table, while the glass plate is maintained in a posture vertical to the top face of the table. |
