PURPOSE: A surface treatment agent is provided to form a flat beta layer without unevenness while preventing the diffusion of ink by imparting ink repellency to a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A surface treatment agent for imparting ink repellency on a substrate comprises a copolymer having a component unit induced from a compound represented by chemical formula (1) and a chemical formula(1) a radically polymerizable monomer with a hydrophilic group, and a solvent. The hydrophilic group of the radically polymerizable monomer is hydroxyl, carboxy or phenolic hydroxyl. |
