<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable radio equipment capable of utilizing an existing conductive part as an antenna to expand a range in which communication with a counter machine is possible, without enlarging the equipment, wherein the counter machine is a communications partner of non-contact radio communication. <P>SOLUTION: The portable radio equipment 1 includes a second case 3 turnable through a first case 4 and a hinge coupling 2. The first case 4 includes a loop antenna 10, a communication circuit 12, a conductive member 9, a first switch circuit 13, and a second switch circuit 14. The conductive member 9 is prepared at a position where it does not overlap with the loop antenna 10 in the case thickness direction. The first switch circuit 13 switches electric connection of the loop antenna 10 to the communication circuit section 12. The second switch circuit 14 switches electric connection of the conductive member 9 to the communication circuit section 12.
