PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning implement for an expansion joint of an eaves gutter, which prevents the omission of the removal of the positioning implement after connecting operations by suppressing the sliding of the sliding joint of the expansion joint of the eaves gutter. SOLUTION: This positioning implement for the expansion joint of the eaves gutter includes an engaging piece 1a which is engaged with an expansion joint body 2 having a fixing joint 2B provided on the side of one end and which is engaged with the sliding joint 3 slidably fitted on the side of the other end of the expansion joint body 2, so as to perform the positioning of the sliding joint 3, and a visual recognition portion 1b which can be visually recognized from obliquely below the front side of the expansion joint body 2. Since the positioning implement has the engaging piece 1a engaged with both the expansion joint body 2 and the sliding joint 3, the sliding of the sliding joint 3 can be prevented; and the operation for connecting the eaves gutters 6 and 6 together can be performed in a proper position. Since the positioning implement 1 has the visual recognition portion 1b which can be visually recognized from obliquely below the front side of the expansion joint body 2, the existence of the positioning implement 1 can be checked even from obliquely below the front side of the expansion joint body 2 in the final checking of the operations after the completion of the operation of connecting the eaves gutters 6 and 6 together; and there is no risk of the omission of the removal of the positioning implement 1.
