LARYNGOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laryngoscope which can safely and reliably elevate the epiglottis and by which the entrance part of the trachea can be easily and directly viewed.

SOLUTION: The laryngoscope 1 is provided with a blade 11 which is inserted from the mouth of a patient for elevating his epiglottis in order to view the entrance part of his trachea and whose base end part 11a is connected with an end 10a of a handle 10 which can be gripped. A first electrode 12a is arranged in the base end part 11a of the blade 11 and a second electrode 12b is so constructed that it can be attached to the skin surface near the epiglottis. It is so constructed that a low-frequency current passes between the first electrode 12a and the second electrode 12b.
