<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease of strength of a welded part caused by a pull-out hole of a stirring probe in case of joining by friction stir welding, surface modification and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A hole 26 of an article 22 to be welded is clogged by friction plug welding. The welded part between the article to be welded and the plug 24 is reinforced by a welding floor 34 in the article to be welded surrounding one end of the plug.
