<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and a program for efficiently performing tessellation processing. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes a CPU 2 for performing interpolation processing on vertex data of a vector image for each sprite, a tessellation processing unit 6 being hardware for performing tessellation processing that generates primitives based on the vertex data for which the interpolation processing has been performed; and a tessellation data storage unit 61 for storing the primitives generated by the tessellation processing unit for each sprite.
