PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an access path corresponding to another user application from being affected when adding, changing, or deleting an index for generating a high-performance access path for obtaining an inquiry result, in a certain user application. SOLUTION: A processor of a database management device creates an index group by grouping a plurality of indexes, receives an access request with the index group set thereto, selects an index decided to have highest performance for obtaining the inquiry result from the indexes included in the index group, and generates the access path by use of the index.
