PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite display medium particles containing spherical mother particles to be efficiently produced. SOLUTION: The particle for a display medium includes a display medium sealed therein, the display medium being disposed as a particle group between two opposing substrates at least one of which is transparent, and is used for an information display panel to display information by moving the display medium. The particle for the display medium is prepared as a composite particle having mother particles formed by using a resin material blending a base resin with a grinding aid and child particles added on the surface. The base resin has a breaking strength (W<SB>b</SB>) represented by a product of strength (σ<SB>b</SB>) at break and elongation (ε<SB>b</SB>) at break when a tensile force is applied equal to or less than 200[MPa/%], and the grinding aid is blended at 5 to 20 mass% with respect to 100 mass% of the base resin.
