PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method of a bridge pier which is suitable for seating the bridge pier as part of the foundation of another structure at a position correct and accurate, relative to connection to the other structure. SOLUTION: A method for installing a bridge pier includes the steps of (a) arranging the bridge pier 2 in the ground so that a pillar 4 is secured to the bridge pier 2 and is exposed, the center pillar 4 set in a cement material within the body of the bridge pier; (b) preparing a fastener plate 8, which has a slot (the slot being such that it proceeds from an edge part of the plate 8 to a medial part of the plate 8) and fitting the fastener plate 8 to the pillar 4; and (c) fastening the fastener plate 8 to the pillar 4.
