PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming system which perform display regarding a factor for interruption in a present job and in a reserved job if there is a factor for the interruption in the reserved job when interrupting job execution due to the occurrence of an obstacle during the job execution. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a display section for carrying out display; an abnormality detection section for detecting an abnormality in the apparatus; and a control section for managing the job and controlling the execution of the job and the display on the display section. In this case, when a control section which receives a detection result of the abnormality detection section determines that the factor for interruption for interrupting the job in execution actually exists or may occur in the future and determines that other factors for interruption which are different from the factor for interruption actually existing or occurring in the future for the reserved job, the control section carries out the display regarding the interruption of the reserved job on the display section during the interruption or execution of the present job, so that the factor for interruption in a following reserved job is released beforehand when the apparatus is interrupted and stopped during the execution of the present job, and consequently the number of times a system is stopped and the stopped time can be reduced.
