PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knife folder usable by easily switching right-angled knife folding and parallel knife folding in one device according to application. SOLUTION: When performing parallel folding by constituting a knife in the right-angled direction to the paper carrying direction, a carrier belt extended to belt support shafts 8a and 8b is removed, and after setting a carrying unit 11 and a paper stopper 12 on a base 7, a knife folder 3 is arranged in the direction for supplying paper 2 from a preprocessing machine 1 in the paper carrying direction of the carrier belts 15a and 15b. When performing the parallel folding, when the paper 2 is carried and positioned in a position of the paper stopper 12 on the carrier belts 15a and 15b, the knife 4 descends while being driven by a driving mechanism, and projects to the central part of the paper 2, and pushes the paper 2 in between a pair of folding rollers 5a and 5b, and the rotating rollers 5a and 5b discharge the paper 2 by superposably folding.
