The method involves introducing a member (4) of an outer contour substantially complementary to an internal contour of a ring (1). The member is cooled prior to its introduction in the ring by immersion in liquid nitrogen at low temperature sufficient to cause necking of the ring at its proximity, and the ring is extracted out of a bore (2) after time sufficient to ensure necking of the ring. An independent claim is also included for a device for demounting a ring or shrunk fit section tightly adjusted in a bore formed in a support piece. |
