PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an operation rate of a showcase by making the shift to a cold operation in a short time by cooling remaining heat of a hot chamber while preventing thermal interference with the cold chamber due to the remaining heat of the hot chamber in switching an operation mode from a hot and cold operation to the cold operation.SOLUTION: In this hot and cold showcase including display shelves 7 with shelf heaters 8, and an intermediate duct 9 with a damper 9a for guiding cold air from the way of a cold air circulation duct 3 provided with a cooler 4 and a fan 5 to an internal front part and blowing off air curtain, inside of the multistage showcase, and heating and cooling commodities by switching the hot and cold operation and the cold operation by controlling power distribution to the shelf heaters 8, and opening and closing the damper of the intermediate duct 9, a cold shifting operation newly set, is executed in a switching process from the hot and cold operation to the cold operation, the shelf heaters 8 are stopped, the damper 9a of the intermediate duct 9 is opened, and the cold air is blown off even to an upper section in the case through a supply opening 3a of the cold air circulation duct 3 while continuing a cold retaining operation of the cold chamber, thus the hot chamber can be pre-cooled in a short time. |
