PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of casting simulation that accurately predicts overheating of a certain section caused by a molten metal flowing from a gate to the inside of the mold and directly hitting the section and that predicts a crack generated by the overheating, and also to provide an apparatus for casting simulation.SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: creating a mold model M whose cavity in the mold is divided into a plurality of elements E; determining an injection condition to the model M in the analysis of a molten metal flow; analyzing the flow based on the injection condition and calculating a flow speed v of the metal about elements JE1 and LE2 to be determined, selected from the elements E of the model M; calculating an integral value S of the flow speed about the elements JE1 and LE2 based on the speed v; and determining the presence of a crack generated at the elements JE1 and LE2 based on the relationship between the value S and a predetermined determination value D. |
