<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitor, causing less ineffective dissolution of a surface, capable of forming pits with sufficient depths and high in capacitance; and a method for producing the aluminum foil. <P>SOLUTION: The aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitor has a composition that includes, in terms of mass ratio, 5-50 ppm of Si, 5-50 ppm of Fe, 5-70 ppm of Cu, and 20-300 ppm of Ni, with the remainder being aluminum having a purity of 99.9% or higher and inevitable impurities. In the outermost surface of the aluminum foil, an Al-Ni based intermetallic compound with an equivalent circle diameter of 0.5-5 μm has a number density of 10<SP POS="POST">3</SP>-10<SP POS="POST">7</SP>pieces/cm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, and an Al-Ni based intermetallic compound with an equivalent circle diameter of less than 0.5 μm has a number density of 10<SP POS="POST">3</SP>pieces/cm<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
