PURPOSE: A marker detecting device and a method thereof are provided to detect a marker of an input image even though a portion of the marker is hidden. CONSTITUTION: A conversion matrix generating unit(107) forms a first polygon using second feature points in an interest area. The conversion matrix generating unit forms a second polygon using feature points of an input marker image. The input marker image is matched with the second feature points. The conversion matrix generating unit generates a conversion matrix of a polygon using the first and second polygons. A marker predicting unit(109) predicts corner points of the input marker image using the conversion matrix and corner points of a registered marker image.
