The bulb includes a control unit (5) for controlling the LEDs, where the control unit includes a current regulator to regulate current supplied to the LEDs. A light intensity detector (6) is connected to the control unit, and a remote control is in communication with a receiver (7) located in the bulb and connected to the control unit of the LEDs. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a lighting device.
