<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas rice cooker, in which an upper case 3 for supporting a rice cooking pot 1 inserted from the upper side is placed on a lower case in which a burner is mounted, which includes a cylinder outer cover 4 for surrounding the upper case with a radial clearance, can prevent a hand from touching an upper outer peripheral surface of not only the upper case but also the lower case, and does not need high rigidity for the outer cover. <P>SOLUTION: The outer cover 4 is mounted on the upper case 3 to freely move in a vertical direction so that the lower end moves from a position at the lower side than the lower end of the upper case 3 to a position at the height higher than the lower end of the upper case 3.
