<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which occurrence of defective fixation is prevented by not impairing foaming of a fixing agent liquid and delaying chemical degradation of a softener under long term storage of the fixing agent liquid so as to remarkably improve storage stability of the fixing agent liquid. <P>SOLUTION: In the fixing device 20, an unfixed toner 16 formed on a recording medium 15 is fixed with a foamed fixing liquid. A fixing liquid storage container 3 is separately composed of a softener liquid sealing container 1 in which a softener liquid containing an aliphatic ester that dissolves or swells to soften at least a part of toner constituting the fixing agent liquid with the foamed fixing liquid is sealed; and a frother liquid sealing container 2 in which a frother liquid containing an anionic surfactant constituting the fixing agent liquid is sealed.
