The invention relates to a holographic medium, comprising a protective layer and a photopolymer film connected to the protective layer, said photopolymer film containing polyurethane matrix polymers, acrylate writing monomers, and photoinitiators, wherein the protective layer is impermeable to the constituents of the photopolymer film, optically clear, and transparent to electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength in the range of 350 to 800 nm. The invention further relates to the use of a holographic medium according to the invention to produce holograms and to a method for producing a holographic medium according to the invention.
