A method for producing a graphite film which comprises a corrective treatment step for thermally treating a raw material graphite film at 2000°C or higher while applying a pressure thereto. By this corrective treatment, a sag of the graphite film is controlled. By use of a plurality of inner cores having different surface conditions in the corrective treatment step, a graphite film having two or more sags in a sheet, each of said sags having an own effect, can be produced.
