The interior of a tank (16c), which forms first tank cavities (163a, 163b) for collecting or distributing a coolant (first fluid) in a heat exchanger, also includes second fluid passage cavities (162c, 752e) which connect to a second tube (43a) and are formed so as to divide the first tank cavities (163a, 163b). Defrosting of the tank (16c) is performed using a cold fluid (second fluid) in the second fluid passage cavities (162c, 752e), which has a higher temperature than the coolant in the first tank cavities (163a, 163b). As a result, the heat from the second fluid in the second fluid passage cavities (162c, 752e) in the tank (16c) is effectively transmitted to areas in the tank (16c) which are prone to frost accumulation; hence, it is possible to promote defrosting in the tank (16c).
|
